2013 September MUA Highlight- Elaine
Elaine has always had a passion for make-up artistry and loves nothing more than working with fellow creatives to produce unique and beautiful images. She is in demand for her make-up artistry, personalised training courses and media work. She trained firstly in Beauty Therapy (gaining an HND) then after attending Stirling University to train as a lecturer in her subject area went on to gain a second HND in makeup artistry. Her company, Homespa Beauty, recently celebrated its 10th birthday with the launch of her personalised training courses and innovative e-learning for the beauty industry (www.homespabeauty.co.uk).
She has worked on shows for the BBC and ITV and was a member of the make-up team on Paramount Production’s World War Z, starring Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos. In additional to runway work for clients such as Scottish designing talent Iona Crawford, Bebaroque and Issey Miyake, her favourite aspect of her job is editorial work and she has been published in various outlets such as FNO Magazine,The Bite, Scottish Woman, The Scottish Wedding Directory and Ellements Magazine. She is regularly asked to write pieces relating to the beauty industry for magazine features and recently had the wonderful opportunity of working with Laura McKinnon as makeup artist on the creative team on her first book, Ma Soeur, which is out now.
She has been asked to blog for The London School of Makeup and The London School of Beauty to share her insider knowledge, product recommendations and tips. This year she was nominated as a finalist in the BABTAC awards for entrepreneur of the year and the Homespa Beauty Blog has been listed in the top 100 beauty blogs to follow.
